We love Port Albert

Port Albert is a coastal town that was once a busy port in the mid-1800s. It was the original “gateway to Gippsland”.
Here you’ll find safe areas for good fishing. You can also go on a scenic boat trip or enjoy a pleasant afternoon of bird watching.
The town has plenty of historic buildings including one of the oldest licensed hotels in the state. More than 40 of these buildings represent both Georgian and Victorian styles with many dating from the 1850s and 1860s.
While you’re in Port Albert make sure you make time for the town’s famous fish and chips.
The Port Albert Maritime Museum is housed in the former Bank of Victoria building. It’s open seven days a week in the warmer months and on the weekends during winter.
The Nooramunga Marine and Coastal Park around Port Albert has many islands, which offer space for birds and fauna.
Port Albert is also close to other attractions in the region. Tarra Bulga National Park is 40 minutes from Port Albert, while Port Welshpool is 25 minutes down the road. Melbourne is about 240km and three hours away.
Stay at Blithe Spirit or Port Albert B&B.
