Venus Bay

35 minutes drive to Wilsons Promontory.

Venus Bay has five surf beaches and rolling sandy dunes. Famous surf beaches (Beach No. 1 patrolled - when the red and yellow flags are up) are seemingly endless, joining Point Smythe to Waratah Bay.

The Anderson Inlet forms the river's estuary, leading up to Fisherman's Jetty offering shelter from Bass Strait with fishing and boat ramp. Fishing competitions are held regularly and open to all.

The Venus Bay Community Centre boasts a great play area for youngsters including skateboarders.

Visit the Venus Bay 3rd Estate tower lookout and see kangaroos on the wetlands at all hours of the day, and birdlife including rosellas, kookaburras, and birds of prey.

Point Smythe offers a range of signed walking tracks up to 6 kms to its northern tip, looking across the Anderson Inlet to Inverloch - suitable for casual and serious bushwalkers.
