Visitor Information
Stony Creek
But it’s probably more famous for its horse racing track, which can be seen from the highway. The Stony Creek Racing Club has six races for the 2008/2009 horse racing season with the first on November 7 and the last on March 8 when the annual Stock Creek Cup is held. The Great Southern Rail Trail where the train used to travel through Stony Creek is now, which offers horse riding, walking and cycling pleasure either towards Meeniyan or Foster. A new Go-Kart track and café opened in the school holidays of September 2008. Racers can hire karts or bring their own. A number of games machines will also be on offer. The café is open on school holidays, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday during spring and summer. Stony Creek’s central location makes it an ideal place to stop as you explore the region. Adjoining towns Meeniyan is a few minutes drive from Stony Creek. Foster is about 15 minutes drive from Stony Creek. Fish Creek is about 15 minutes drive from Stony Creek. Mirboo North is about 20 minutes drive from Stony Creek. |
