Newly built Black Cockatoo Cottages are stylish, warm and comfortable. Abundant native trees and shrubs attract a variety of bird life including the Black Cockatoo. All three cottages are fully self contained with magnificent views of Wilsons Promontory and Corner Inlet. Kitchens are fully equipped with an upright stove, microwave, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, toaster and jug. Each cottage has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and electric blanket, a lounge room with a futon fold-down bed that doubles as a couch, two comfy easy chairs, a TV/VCR, DVD and compact disc player. Each cottage has a laundry and bathroom. Towels and linen supplied. Magnificent sea views. Relax in comfort, in self-contained cottages overlooking Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory. Enjoy abundant bird and wildlife. Swim, surf, sail board and fish. Take magical bush walks along peaceful tracks that lead to turquoise waters and pristine beaches. Eat at quaint and imaginative cafes in Fish Creek and Foster. Drive to Agnes Falls, along the spectacular Grand Ridge Road, through Tarra Bulga National Park or visit the beautiful beaches of Waratah Bay, Walkerville and Bear Gully.

DIRECTIONS TO YANAKIE & BLACK COCKATOO COTTAGES: From Melbourne take the South Eastern Freeway to the Cranbourne exit. Travel through Cranbourne, Tooradin, Korumburra, Leongatha and Meeniyan. Just past Meeniyan on the right-hand side is the road to Fish Creek / Wilsons Promontory. Just past Fish Creek, take another right-hand turn to Wilsons Promontory. Travel to Yanakie. Four kilometres past Yanakie on the left-hand side is Foley Road. Black Cockatoo Cottages are 600 metres from the corner, on the right-hand side.

Black Cockatoo House is the old family home (1980). It is not rated by AAA. It would suit hikers and the not so fussy, back packer standard. It has a spacious open plan living area and dining area, has full height picture windows framing an unforgettable view of the inlet and the Prom. A sliding door opens on a paved terrace with outdoor furniture and a gas bbq. Inside are couches lounge chairs, gas heating, ceiling fans, pedestal fans, colour tv, cd and dvd player, and a selection of books. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, glass ware, electric stove, microwave, combined fridge/freezer, and a toaster and kettle. The house has a queen bedroom a double bedroom, and a twin bedroom, BYO linen and towels, or can be hired ($20) per bed, accommodates 6 guests. The tiled bathroom has a shower, and a seperate toilet. Blackcockatoo house has a 2 night minimum booking requirement. None residents are not permitted on the property.

Cleanliness		We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Black Cockatoo Cottages in Yanakie. Waking in the morning to the sounds of birds and cows at milking time, with the sun rising directly before us over the Prom was a beautiful start to the day. The cottage was well situated to explore neighbouring towns - we particularly enjoyed visiting Fish Creek where the artistic community is so well represented - and stopping at some of the local wineries. And of course, we were on the doorstep of the Prom where we had an enjoyable day walking amongst banksia groves and visiting the southernmost mangrove swamp, as well as climbing a mountain to take in the view. Black Cockatoo Cottages have an unimpeded view of The Prom. It's a peaceful location and well set up for self-catering... as long as you remember to take everything including tea and coffee. We had a thoroughly restful time there and would certainly consider staying there again when we return to this beautiful part of Victoria. THANK YOU! Cleanliness		I would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going there. They were very close to the Prom and it was very peaceful.
