The ensuite contains a double spa to relax in - and for more entertainment read the newspapers and interesting articles pasted on the walls.

The shower recess is brightly tiled in multi colors.

The kitchen is a retro look with yellow laminex, a chrome table and chairs and bright colored cupboards each painted a differently with funky sea creature door handles.

The stylish inside of The Quirky is filled with new, quality furniture - a red club lounge suite and ottoman, polished timber floors and fittings that are all just that bit different - one of the walls is covered with old records... from Jo Cocker to the Beach Boys!

Reverse cycle air conditioner and wood heater.

Clothes dryer, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and washing machine.

The Quirky boasts outside decking with recycled furniture (made out of old milk cartons) and a stainless steel, gas barbeque and a well secured yard.

Once returning from a long day at the beach or Shallow Inlet, guests have the ability to wash off the salt and sand under the outside hot shower.

Another intriguing thing about The Quirky is "the throne" - an outside toilet with a mosaic tiled floor, wall papered walls.

Sandy Point is about 200km from Melbourne. Turn off at Meeniyan and head towards Fish Creek.

The Quirky is just a short stroll from both the beach access track, the Store and Cafe, however it is located in a quite side street.

Local Attractions:

If you’re heading to Sandy Point it’s because you love the beach. The ocean beach is patrolled by surf life savers during summer and offers acres of sand for beachside play and relaxation. Take your surf board or swimmers and spend countless summer hours enjoying the sun and water. Wilsons Promontory offers a scenic backdrop to your Sandy Point beach stay. The recently constructed, and imposing, Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club building is fully-licensed and open at selected times.

A couple of minutes away from Sandy Point, Shallow Inlet provides safe swimming options for kids. It’s also one of the world’s top places for wind and kite surfing. Indeed a world speed record was set here by a sailing craft. Keen fishers should drop a line here as well: King George Whiting, Flathead, Trevally and Australian Salmon have all been caught here at times. Boats can also be from the western beach. Climb the sand dunes for some stunning vistas of the region and towards Wilsons Promontory. There are also barbecue and picnic facilities.

As with all Prom Country towns other attractions, such as Wilsons Promontory, are down the road. You can buy almost everything you’ll need for your stay at Sandy Point general store or head to Foster or Leongatha to stock up on supplies. For a meal go to the Sandy Point café.

Cleanliness		We stayed with our older dog and 5 month old lab puppy, who was visiting the beach for the first time. We chose the wettest, stormiest week of the year, but inside The Quirky, in front of the wood fire (with reverse cycle back-up if needed), dogs and humans were all cosy and warm, which was great. The huge tides when we were there in mid-winter actually made beach access challenging due to dune erosion in many places, so if you have mobility issues you should take that into account. However, once on the beach we often had kilometres of its awesome beauty to ourselves; up the other end of the town, from Ned's lookout, is the off-lead beach, which is excellent. The back yard is pretty and secure, so the set-up is ideal as long as you BYO everything you need in the kitchen and don't expect the local, take-away to stay open when there's no one but you around. Cleanliness		Going on a long awaited mini-break was all we had hoped for staying at The Quirky in such a wonderful location as is Sandy Point. The Quirky was so comfortable and cosy. The wood fire was put to constant use this time of year and because it was "off season" it was lovely and quiet, beautiful surroundings. Archie loved running on the beach, going on nice long walks and having pride of place in front of the fire! He even had some treats bought for him from the local shop. The Quirky was secure for him and he had lots of room to run around in the yard. We absolutely fell in love with The Quirky, the way it was decorated, we didn't need for anything. The bed was very comfortable and I definitely wanted to take the bathroom home with me! Relaxing in the spa bath with some bath salts was a highlight for me. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and a very reasonable price. We most certainly will be back and have already discussed with friends to try out The Bothy! For a couple and their beloved dog The Quirky was an absolute winner! Cleanliness		The Quirky is sparkling clean, the furnishings & bed were really comfortable. Pure old-fashioned fun exploring the walls and toilets - you'll see what we mean when you get there! We opened the windows to let in some fresh air and were pleasantly surprised to hear the surf rolling in from the beach nearby. The locals are very friendly - everyone says "G'day" as you walk around. Sadly, gone are the days when holiday-house kitchen cupboards are filled with cooking oils, tomato sauce and assorted condiments. The advertised "Tea & coffee making facilities" is actually a kettle. No tea bags, no coffee, no sugar. So the message here is take EVERYTHING (food wise) with you - including drinking water. Alternatively, be prepared to pay top dollar at the local grocery shop or Take-Away. The Quirky is the best value for money you'll find in Sandy Point. You'll have a great time - we certainly did. Cleanliness		Great location to spend time for a few days or a week. Quirky is a home away from home. You really get that feeling of homeliness once you are in Quirky. Everything you will want in a home is available. What I enjoyed the most is the great plama tv with an awesome lounge and A/C. Enjoyed a few good movies. Sandy Point beach is just a few minutes walk and its just spectacular, you have the beach all for yourself. The Quirky has all that a kitchen needs and you can cook yourself a storm.
