Lovely place to stay. We were enchanted by the birds, views and alpacas. We have two teenage girls who loved Emerald Hills too, especially Lily the dog, the alpacas and the hammock. Our hosts were friendly, helpful but not intrusive at all. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Emerald Hills Cottage. The cottage was a great size for us (2 adults, 5yo & 6mo), well stocked and thoughtfully equipped, and we loved the large west facing windows, allowing plenty of natural light and some marvellous scenery and spectacular sunsets. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Our 5yo got a real kick out of collecting fresh eggs straight from the barn. There's an oval and small playground just down the road where we were able to fly a kite and kick a ball around, and we had a very enjoyable breakfast at the Koonwarra Store. A short drive to Leongatha for food and supplies was also convenient.

We had a fabulous time. The cottage was very relaxing. Breakfast left was excellent. Cereal, bread, jam, butter, eggs and bacon. There was also a good supply of teas, orange juice and bottled water.

This cottage manages to be both spacious and cosy at the same time. The decor is done in very good taste. The owners were very helpful without being obtrusive and their Jack Russells won our hearts. You have a real sense of being out in the countryside but with easy access to the rail trail going to Leongatha which starts at the shop/cafe. (However, we had to drive to Meeniyan to get access to the rail trail to Foster. There is a break in the trail at Koonwarra due to bridges being down and the Highway is not safe to ride on. But that isn't a problem, so long as people know.) The cottage is very good value.

Thankyou Rosalind. We enjoyed your company and were intrigued that you coped with the long bicycle ride to Foster. Well done. It is wonderful to meet up with such fit and healthy people obviously enjoying life to the full. We hope you had a lovely visit with your friends further on and were happy that the weather smiled upon you. Jan.

While we were surprised by the closeness of the cottage to the owner's house, it did not matter a bit and we had a very pleasant stay overnight. Great views and friendly hospitality.

We loved our stay at Emerald Hills. The owners are friendly and helpful and the location lovely. It is quite close to the main house which did not worry us but may be a consideration for some. There is however still plenty of privacy afforded to the cottage with screening and gardens. We were towing a trailer and the parking was a bit tight. The best part for us was the magnificent views and proximity to the rail trail which was fantastic for family cycling trips. Our day trip to Wilsons Prom was also fantastic.

Thankyou for your comments re Emerald Hills Cottage. I hadn't realised I could actually reply to YOUR comments. We enjoyed you and the family's stay, and we hope the new baby and the move have been free of stress for you both. We have had a fairly busy few weeks which is not usual for winter, but the word is out about our beautiful EMERALD HILLS I think. Jan and Graham Green.
