Right on the tourist designated Grand Ridge Road; the view from the house is equal to if not better than anywhere on the scenic route. From Leongatha it's an easy 15-minute drive through the rolling green hills of South Gippsland to this wonderfully tranquil setting.
Grand Ridge - peaceful, private and all yours for the duration of your stay.
It is an immaculately presented self-contained 2 bedroom house (with 2 queen size beds...all linen included) with all modern conveniences for those who are particular about quality, comfort yet want views as well!!!
At the house it is peaceful, tranquil, and very private - surrounded by a well maintained and beautiful, natural garden with bird attracting trees in a great setting (see the photos).
It's solar efficient, north facing, warm in winter, cool in summer; has a fireplace, choice of 3 BBQ's with 20 acres of your own space to enjoy from a large front deck or on the immaculate lawn overlooking two beautiful valleys.

About the property.....
The 20-acre property occupies a steep north-facing slope, where two beautiful valleys converge. Pastures, dotted with trees and grazing cattle, carpet the natural contours of the landscape - its folds, hollows and ridges. A tree lined drive descends from Grand Ridge Road, part way down the property to a leveled terrace where the house is sited in a grove of floriferous native plants, where delightful birds flit in andout.
Along the front of the house is a ground level verandah with sliding glass doors and full length windows from the living area and the main bedroom. The breathtaking panorama begins at day break as the sunrises at one end of the eastern valley and finishes with the setting sun at the end of the western valley. From the bedroom, the fireside lounge, the dining table, even the kitchen, each spot offers its own slightly different angle of view, or go right to the edge of the lawn for the 'Imax' version.
The cream, timber house has an unusual architect design that employs some interesting solar efficiencies inspired by the northerly aspect. The steep pitch of the main roof spans across the verandah and the living room.
A large transparent section conveys the winter sunlight, through second tier windows, into the middle of the house. As for the interior aesthetics, the soaring ceiling, with exposed trusses, adds a spatial quality that balances the otherwise cosy floor plan. The soft grey colour scheme is complemented by exposed, pale timber elements in the roof trusses, ceiling and feature wall paneling at either end of the living room. An enclosed wood fire sits in its own alcove, which, together with 100% woolen carpets, will keep wintry weather at bay.
Special Features...
Grand Ridge is located on Grand Ridge Road, the region's spectacular scenic touring route. From the front gate you can explore in both directions by car, bicycle or on foot. The properties own 20 acres can also be explored on foot. Mount Worth State Park and Mossvale Park, with its mature English trees and gardens, are short drive from Grand Ridge.
It is equipped with a modern kitchen encompassing a convectional microwave oven, dishwasher and quality cooking utensils for those that may want to cook up a treat!!
It also contains TV (excellent reception with all Melbourne stations), VCR, DVD, dryer and washing machine as well as all the comforts of a modern home.
A 6-place dining table with lovely rattan chairs as well as a very comfortable leather lounge suite to stretch out on await you.
Even when weather engulfs Grand Ridge, it's a delight watching it all pass from the comfort of the leather lounge suite right by the fire!!!
If you want to cook that special meal, then there is also a choice of either cooking inside on modern hotplates or outside on any one of 3 BBQ's, one being a Weber, the other two, a gas and wooden BBQ. See the main picture/s for the setting of the wooden BBQ with seats.
The windows can all be opened to let the air flow through for those that are into a feeling of being outdoors whilst enjoying the comforts of indoor luxury furniture. Don't worry; every window has a fly wire to keep the pests at bay!!!
The only sounds you are likely to hear are cows and the birds. Occasionally a pair of eagles fly over to keep an eye on things!!!
Sitting on one of the comfortable outdoor chairs on the undercover front deck in the late afternoon and evening enjoying watching the long shadows form across the valley as the sun sets or witnessing natures storms roll through are delights you are hardly likely to forget for a long time to come.
This is a place where nature often turns on spectacular entertainment. For example you may wake at some hour of the morning to see the valley full of fog with a full moon illuminating it. Rather like a fairytale setting.
In fact we are so confidant that our descriptions will match what you will experience and more, we offer a full refund if you are genuinely not satisfied with your stay and find the description doesn't match your expectations!!! Now that's something rarely offered these days.
For the health of others, about the only house rules we ask clients to assist with are no smoking inside and shoes are left off at the door and dishes etc are washed. (Don't worry; the 100% wool carpet will keep your feet warm).
Sorry, no pets allowed or children.
We hope you understand our reasons for keeping the cottage for adults only. If you would like to know more or see more pictures, then please don't hesitate to contact us for assistance.

Hello Tony & Linda, Well to quote a famous line "Ah the serenity". We immediately felt ourselves relax when walking in the door - the scenery was just superb, even when there was no view due to fine misty rain. Just loved the absolute quietness and the fire and thoroughly enjoyed only listening to birds and the occasional moo. We will definitely recommend the property to others. Thank you for making your place available for us to stay in as it certainly met our expectations and we hope to return one day. Pieter and Margaret.
Hi Tony, We had a great time at Grand Ridge. Thanks for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful location. Everything went really well - your house and property exceeded our expectations. One morning we woke up to a beautiful fog in the vally and on New Years Eve, there was a natural fireworks display - what a vantage point for a storm! Thanks! Mandy and Simon.
Dear Tony and Linda, Grand Ridge was absolutely beautiful, the view was fantastic and the house had everything we needed to make it an easy stay. Will definitely stay there again once we get time off but yeah thank you a lot for sharing the house and for all the information you supplied... those booklets were very helpful! Romance was definitely supplied by the house. Kind regards, Pip and Michael.
Dear Tony and Linda, What a remarkable place! We didnt want to leave. I must say one of the best places we have ever stayed at! Thank you for sharing such an amazing place in a beautiful part of the world! Cheers and thanks, Bill and Sarah.
Hi Tony and Linda, We had a lovely relaxing weekend at Grand Ridge. You have created a beautiful escape there! The views are sensational and the weather was lovely too. It was even surprisingly warm – we had hoped to light the fire but couldn’t justify it! It was the perfect way to wind down so we hope to come back sometime. Kind regards, Eliza.
Hi Tony and Linda, What a wonderful property you have. Our stay surpassed all expectations (a rarity this day and age!) and very welcomed. We loved the peace and quiet, the views and the proximity to Melbourne - exactly what we were looking for. Needless to say we will be visiting again when we need another fix. Regards, John and Janine.
Hi Tony and Linda, We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at Grand Ridge. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and also the cosy, warm atmosphere with the woodburner. Watching the light change in the valley was also very magical and inspired me to get my Canon camera out. Thankfully we had better weather than was originally forecast so it was very pleasant to have the sun stream through the windows. Everything was in great working order. Nice bakery at Mirboo North! Thanks again. Kind regards, Helena and Grant.
